Are they really representing 10% of players, or are the players being represented a large majority and the new players like myself are the minority?

Honestly, Ali's CSM8 platform was one of the closest ones to being an advocate for new players. However, her platform was biased to her current arrangement of living in null sec.

I'm wondering what it would be like to have a candidate whose platform is the new player experience across all aspects of EVE. Would it be a bad thing to have a candidate who isn't heavily invested in one area of the game over another? I don't think it would be.

A few questions remain:

1. Are there enough new players to vote for that type of CSM candidate? This goes back to what proportion of the game are new players.

2. If there are sufficient numbers that a new player CSM could be voted in, would they vote for them as opposed to a high/low/null/wh candidate?

I don't know if this is a viable candidacy platform or not. "I'll listen to everyone's ideas from all walks of life and advocate for good ideas." Even new players end up having a play style; mine is wormholes right now. Should I vote for a generalist new player friendly candidate or a wormhole candidate?

I feel like there are more questions than answers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11334766438675156605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2503855031423413110.post-43411552321703374152014-06-13T07:56:38.186-04:002014-06-13T07:56:38.186-04:00Yes. You state an interesting conundrum. How can C...Yes. You state an interesting conundrum. How can CSM represent the 90% the leave the game when their interests are wrapped up in the 10%?

A new player is awash in CSM candidate names they do not know, as you stated. I voted for "imagination" rather than isolated area mechanics. At least that is what I thought.

There really isn't much to choose from ... at least from the newer player perspective. I'm very interested in how your opinions on this matter develop and evolve over time as you, too, are representative of the newer player experience.Art Hornbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18103351963477702828noreply@blogger.com
